telc stands for “the european language certificates” o “los certificados europeos de idioma” and is an institution located in Germany. It has been certifying German language skills for academic, professional, and social purposes throughout Europe for 40 years. It was founded in collaboration with the Federation of Official German Folk Schools (Deutscher Volkshochschul-Verband e.V.) and the German Institute for Adult Education (Deutsches Institut für Erwachsenenbildung), working closely with the Goethe-Institut, various ministries in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, as well as the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE).
Official exams began in the 1990s at official language schools in Germany. Through collaboration with recognized institutions such as the Goethe-Institut and other prestigious international institutions such as ALTE, telc certificates are awarded by both official schools and private centers and international language academies.
The unified system, strictly oriented to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, guarantees the international recognition of your exam. It certifies communicative competence in the German language at five different levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1), regardless of age (from 16 years old), origin, or the purpose for which you chose this language. As a more specific diploma to certify a sufficient level of German for work, we also prepare the Zertifikat Deutsch für den Beruf in Malaga.
Since autumn 2008, German courses here at the Deutsch Schule in Malaga can be certified with official telc exams. The advantages of the new system are more systematic preparation and simpler administration and processing, making it less expensive for students than an external exam. While the Goethe-Institut takes between six and twelve months to issue its certificates, here at the academy, you can obtain the official telc certificate within two months of taking the exam, and it is equally valid. The cost of telc exams is slightly lower than that of Goethe-Institut exams.
Our German courses continue to focus on practical use of the language combined with the necessary grammar foundation. Students can decide at the end of each level whether they want to take an exam. In our view, this is extremely advantageous for the student because:
a) the student can verify their level and their good progress in class
b) preparing for the exam summarizes the course material, making the course more effective
c) an official diploma improves the chances of finding a good job and also offers opportunities for a better position in their current position
The following certificates are offered with official and recognized titles:
Start Deutsch 1 (telc Deutsch A1): After completing the A1 + A1B courses, you can take the first exam, which represents the first step in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It certifies that you know how to use everyday expressions and construct simple sentences.
Start Deutsch 2 (telc Deutsch A2): After completing the A2 + A2B courses, you are ready for this exam.
It certifies that you are able to communicate in German at a basic level and demonstrates a good foundation in German for use in simple, familiar situations.
Zertifikat Deutsch : This B1 level exam is intended as proof of good knowledge of standard German. Holders of this certificate have mastered a basic vocabulary of approximately 2,000 words and the most important grammatical structures. They can participate in conversations on general, everyday topics.
telc Deutsch B2: After completing the B2 level, the exam assesses fluency and natural speaking, as well as understanding of complex texts and the production of detailed texts on various topics.
Zertifikat Deutsch für den Beruf (ZDfB): Developed prepared jointly by the Goethe Institute and telc y certifica un dominio independiente del alemán en un entorno laboral correspondiendo al nivel B2 del marco europeo de referencia..
telc Deutsch C1: Holding the Zertifikat C1 diploma (the former "Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung" of the Goethe Institute) certifies advanced knowledge of general German.
