The German language

German is a  Germanic language dentro de la within the Indo-European language family.

The German language, spoken by approximately 120 million people, is becoming increasingly important. There are 82 million inhabitants in Germany, 7.5 million in Austria, and 4.5 million in Switzerland. However, German is also spoken in many Eastern European countries, especially in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Hungary.

It is the language with the most native speakers in the European Union, where it is official in seven countries (Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, and Namibia). Furthermore, German is one of the most widely taught foreign languages ​​worldwide.

On the Costa del Sol, German is especially in demand because a large number of German tourists come to Malaga and its coasts every year. Any business knows that it's easier to sell if you speak the same language, and this way, you can provide better service to German customers. Germans travel a lot, and if they like a place, they spend a considerable amount of money there. To find a good job in a region as dependent on tourism as the Costa del Sol, a command of German is therefore more than useful.

Companies in sectors such as hotels, restaurants, and bars, as well as banks, clothing stores, telecommunications, and services, no longer hire staff without at least a good foundation in the language.

The grammar rules are written in Duden, which was first published in 1860. Much later, in 1996, there was a spelling reform, but a large part of the German public and part of the German media opposed it, so both forms of writing have continued to coexist ever since.

It's a more difficult language than English, but don't be alarmed; its reputation as a very difficult language isn't true. If you're eager to learn it, talk to us and you'll see that it's not so difficult if you study in a very small group with motivated teachers and experienced teachers.

The  Goethe Institute , is an organization dependent on the German state whose function is to promote and protect German culture and language. It also issues the only official examinations in the world.
